beach time...

So looks like the beach is out for me this summer, not going to happen before I go into lockdown mode waiting for BBB to arrive. But I got this in my inbox this morning and couldn't be more thrilled that this bag is back! Love MZ Wallace - got my baby bag, the Kate, from them 2 years ago. It's been a great bag. Anywho - paid more for this sucker last year, but just excited it's back. Not that I need another one, it's held up great through 1 season and is working on it's 2nd rodeo. And that's a lot to say when you lug it and all your "kid" items around it in all day. Free shipping through the 30th...what a steal!

calling all cards!

Calling cards! These little cuties are business card size and are a neccesity in the birthday party world. Just thought I'd share a few of the little ones I've done. Short and sweet here tonight! Enjoy!

just pin it!

Found my new addiction last night. Pinterest. Last week I ignored my friend Julie's request to join out of ignorance and simply because I didn't think I had enough time for any new website in my life. I was wrong. And then I saw someone mention it on good ole FB. So I quickly checked it out on my super fast new computer. And I was instantly hooked. I do my own cataloging of things I find on the internet for inspiration/ideas/projects - but my system is horrible! just a whole bunch of saved images. Half of the stuff I save I can then no longer remember where it was from, least of all, find it again. I also bookmark sites to my favorites, but that is a mess and takes forever to find things, too. Pinning is where it's at. You can pin it, then pick a board to put it on, and then it saves the link and everything. It's all neat and organized. And if you have good taste, you can proudly look upon all your little pinned items with joy! Until you do it, I don't think I can explain it thoroughly. Send me a shout if you need an invitation. Not sure how exclusive this site is, but it's what the cool kids are doing these days. Here are a few things I've pinned for example. You can follow me (like twitter) - I'm TwoPunksPaper on both. Only 24 hours ago I didn't know what I was missing and today on my phone I was bummed that I hadn't had the app loaded and ready to go so I could pin on the go as well! Do you pin?

so check it out.

This cute diddy I repinned from Jules. I could totally make this for AB's room.

This scarf looks fun and summery! Love it - just not sure how fun-lovin' houston is for scarf wearing in the humidity!
This is my inspiration for AB's new room. This could be a whole post on it's own. Don't expect this to be the finish product though - just a little inspiration. From the Quadrille fabrics site. I'm obsessed. Haven't closed this website page all week. B/c apparently I fear it will combust.

This is a gorgeous and simple bouquet. Love the use of the succulents. Hens and Chicks? Can't remember what type, but my neighbor has some and this might have just put the fire in my pants to go steal a few "chicks" one late night...

Isn't this just amazing? Needs no words. other than LOVE.

Cute sheets. Urban Outfitters. great price.

on the road again...

We are to headed to graduation this weekend for the lil' sis. She's graduating and we are packing and getting ready for a fun weekend with the family. She also asked me to do the announcements. This is only the 2nd graduation announcement that I've had the honor to work on, but I think they turned out pretty cute. Here are the final 3, I'll let you decide which one she went with. Couldn't be more excited to congratulate the graduate this weekend and spend some time with the in laws! Yeah MC!

happy birthday to all the ladies!

So this is a post all about girls invitations from past summers! Just wanted to show some custom items that rarely get seen unless you are invited to these parties! I tend not to advertise that I do much of this stuff, though I love to create fun birthday invites. On another note, I noticed that most of these invitations feature fun, handwriting type fonts and I wanted to share a great page with you for free handwriting fonts that I love. Check it out here. And enjoy!

in the mood for a little joses

The news is out! Molina's is planning on moving back to the old 'hood. So in the spirit of Jose's Dip and all things Mexican, I'm doing a little post about AB and her mexican dress summer look of the week! Ours is from the mercado in San Antonio, so if you are making a trip in that direction that seems to be the easiest place to go. My stylish friend, Mandy, just pointed out there is a store near Briarmeadow called The Cardinal that has a whole bunch of mexican imports. I am yet to check it out, but can't wait to have a little free time to head over there. I'm well stocked on Mexican maternity attire - got some nice airy big shirts when I was preggers with AB for the summer. About time to bust them out in celebration of Molina's return! We pair our mexican dress with our sandals from Target - a perfect match! Also a few samples of how we do Mexican around here at Two Punks.

new designs and deals

So I'm going to do a combo post today! Designs for summer birthdays plus deals of the day/weekend! First off, designs...

I have kicked off the summer birthday craze with these 2 new designs for boy birthdays! Let me know what you think!

And now on to the deals of the weekend!

Gap Kids is having 40% off new items for summer when you pay with your Visa card. Use VISACARD in store or online. Saturday only! Did this deal for the fall and got some good play clothes for the little lady!

Great stuff on sale up to 40% at Banana online - if I weren't preggers, it would be dangerous! No code necessary, stuff already marked down.

And nearer and dearer to my stationery heart, Katie and Co. at 4500 Washington is having a spring cleaning sale, 40% off everything in store. But you have to go TODAY! They are headed to NYC for the stationery show and will be closed Sat - Mon I believe. Katie is an Aggie, a theta, she knows a ton about paper and stationery and she now has her own precious store that carries a lot of cute lines of stationery.

FOR you preggo peeps - motherhood is having a $10 off $50 purchase with code MH10 - so you only have to spend $40!!! This place is cheap and they make the good secret belly fit bottoms just like the pea, fyi.

And old navy is having way too many/good of sales this weekend for you to skip out on either. I've gotten a ton of emails and stuff on FB from ON and Baby Cheapskate about deals for Old Navy. Worth a checking out if you need anything on the cheap!

My inbox was flooded this morning with sales and I ignored most of them. Any great ones you want to share?

summer look of the week

So we aren't new to this little dress here. It's made by the same lady who made AB's birthday dress last year. It's the Jane dress in blue seersucker with a red monogram and it's precious. Would be great for Memorial Day, the Fourth, or to wear to the hospital when BBB is born! We will pair it with our superga tennies for the summer. She even makes a little matching shortall for the BBB to wear next spring!

jack's first birthday whales

This is a blast from the past now that this little man is about to turn 3, but too cute not to share. Here is an invitation, matching thank you and cake and banner made from artwork created for Jack's first birthday. Wow - time has flown by in the past 2 years!

AB birthday paper stuff

So I've got the big 2 year on the brain and just peeked back at the folder of paper things I created for the first birthday and thought I would share a few of them. I did a lot of "do it yourself" stuff for this party, but I will just show some of what I did for the invitations, thank you's, labels, etc.

Sign for the sweets table

This hardly looks like the same kid! She's grown so much!

Water bottle labels
Thank you note design

Coloring book cover in the favor bag. The background was also used as envelope liners and for some other basic labels for bubbles, etc.

And the invitation!

Fun stuff...now it's time to get designing for the 2nd party o' fun!

real parties! (it's about time)

Well I didn't intend this blog to be about my shopping escapades. And though you are probably thinking that's all I do in my spare time (??huh, do I have that?) - I actually design invitations and thank you's as my work gig. To say it's been busy lately is an understatement. Here's a precious invitation for a sweet client of mine's daughter Addison's 2nd Birthday. With matching stickers And look at the cute cake she had made to match the invitation!
